Set your brand color and logo once and every widget, your help center and your branded emails use them. Then shape each widget for the place it lives.
- Choose a Branded or Light header, a greeting, and your own tab names, such as “Support” instead of “Messages”.
- Pick from eight launcher icons, three shapes and three sizes, with an optional label such as “Need help?”.
- Add up to 8 quick links above the help search, like a status page or booking link, shown to everyone, signed-in visitors or anonymous visitors.
- Let visitors minimize the launcher into a slim tab, or start it minimized.

Install
Two lines of code. Any website.
Copy the snippet and paste it before the closing body tag, or into the custom code setting of WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix or Shopify. Reload, and the launcher appears.
- Choose which domains can load it, so nobody can copy your snippet to their own site.

Every widget has its own availability. Switch it in Cove and your site updates on its own, with nothing to redeploy.
- Announcement shows your message, up to 280 characters, at the top of every tab. Visitors can still read articles and reply to their conversations, but can’t start new ones or submit forms.
- Hidden removes the widget completely. The snippet keeps working, so nothing on your site breaks.
- Cove shows who changed it and when. One click on Set live brings it back.

Questions about the widget
Does it work with my website builder?
Yes. Paste the snippet into the HTML of every page, just before the closing body tag. WordPress, Webflow, Squarespace, Wix and Shopify all have a custom code or footer code setting for this.
Can I open the widget from my own button?
Yes. Add data-cove-open to any button, or link to a tab with an address such as #cove-roadmap. Developers can also call Cove.open(), open a specific form, and show their own unread indicator.
Will it clash with my site’s styles?
No. Your site’s styles don’t affect the widget, and the widget doesn’t affect yours.
Do customers keep their conversations if they come back later?
Yes. Anonymous visitors are remembered in their browser. If your site has logins, identify signed-in users and their conversations follow them to any device.
Can I remove the “Powered by Cove” badge?
Yes, on the Business plan.
